Do I actually need to follow the script?

The script was written directly by the campaign for you to read through and follow. Campaigns spend a lot of time figuring out the best way to get their messages out to voters, so it is a good idea to stick to the script as much as possible. There may be a voter conversation where you find that your call naturally moved away from the script a bit. That is fine, we want you to engage and have a natural conversation, but in general, follow the language outlined by the campaign. If you do end up getting a bit off script, re-direct the conversation by asking the voter the next question in the script.
